Filippa K, one of Sweden’s leading fashion retailers with stores around the world, is in the middle of a digital transformation to switch the business from traditional retail to being truly omnichannel so they can ensure their focus is firmly on the customer at all times.
They have joined forces with market-leading mPOS system provider, Sitoo, and payment platform, Adyen, to accelerate this transformation. According to Markus Lindberg, CTO at Filippa K, working with flexible and open systems that operates internationally and are easy to integrate – was key to them for choosing Sitoo and Adyen.
“After a very successful launch of the new e-commerce platform Episerver, we wanted to introduce a new, modern point of sale system to create one common picture of customers, orders and stock between our stores and website,” he said.
“We’ve built up a broad technical competence within the company with development, IT and support, which together with our very competent suppliers and partners, has been able to deliver business value in an extremely short time.”
Filippa K’s e-commerce platform was implemented in 5 months – from project start to launch – in 70 countries, while the switch to Sitoo and Adyen took three months from the start to going live in the first market, and a further two more months to be rolled out in all 6 countries where Filippa K has stores.
This speed of implementation made the transformation easy for Filippa K’s store associates and with the new setup they can improve the level of service their customers receive.
Lindberg adds: “Thanks to Sitoo’s easy-to-use interface, with simplified and new features, our store staff can put more focus on meeting our customers. By linking Sitoo mPOS with our online channels and using Adyen both in-store and online, our customers can now use gift cards between the channels as well as seeing their complete purchase history when they are logged into the website.
“Better integrations also give us central control of things like price points and campaigns, making life much easier for our employees. Together with our partners, the next step is to move forward with features like Click and Collect, Ship from Store and Endless Aisle.”
The rollout has been the culmination of a huge amount of work behind the scenes at Filippa K where building a strong internal IT team has been a top priority.
Jens Levin, Sitoo co-founder and CEO, adds: “Every organization needs heros like Markus to take ownership of and champion their digital transformation. Thanks to his forward thinking, positivity and thorough approach, Filippa K has been able to take huge strides in transforming their stores and online offering. We’re delighted to be working with them and Adyen, and are excited to see how this digital transformation will help them grow.”
